Rev. Carol Chambers

A little about Rev. Carol~~She happily resides in Leesburg, Fl with her life partner, Nan, and their dog, Finian. She is currently the founding Pastor of Open Circle at The Villages MCC. She graduated with a degree in Voice from Rollins College and received a Master of Divinity Degree from Southeastern Seminary in 1978. She was ordained in Austin, Texas that same year, and later earned a Master’s Degree in Religion from Indiana University. Graduate studies took her to Union Theological Seminary in NYC and she lived in New York state for 25 years. She has one son, David, who resides in New York City with his wife, Gina. Her faith practice has been ecumenical in nature and she has served in several different denominations. From the late 1980’s through 2006, she worked mostly in New York in the fields of child welfare and domestic violence. She continued to serve churches in various ministry positions and also did consulting throughout New York State for the Department of Children and Families, SAGE, and Brookdale Center on Aging where she did training on the needs of LGBT elders. Soon after her return to Florida, she was blessed to return to full time ministry with the Metropolitan Community Church. She served as the Central Florida Regional Cluster Team Leader for UFMCC and currently serves on the Emerging Ministries Team. She is happy to have found a faith home in the UFMCC. She is blessed to be working with Open Circle MCC and proud to be their pastor.
